SWORN TRANSLATOR IN LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA, SPAIN
S
I am a sworn translator for English and Spanish appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. I am based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.
A sworn translation (also referred to as a certified translation or a official translation) is required when an official or legal document is written in a foreign language and needs to be recognised and accepted by authorities, government agencies or legal entities in another country.
This is where the role of a certified translator, sworn translator or official translator comes into play, translating the official document from one language into another.
A sworn translation has official status and is legally binding, as it certifies that the translation is accurate and faithful to the original document. The sworn translator will stamp and sign the translation to make it legally valid. Sworn translators are also required to follow strict ethical and confidentiality practices in their work.
Some common examples of documents that may require a sworn translation are: birth certificates, medical certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, academic degrees, contracts, powers of attorney, court records, passports or judgments.
English and Spanish Sworn Translation
As a sworn translator based in Gran Canaria, I provide official translations of legal documents in English and Spanish, both on-site and online.
I am officially recognised and authorised by the relevant body in Spain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, and I have the language skills and expertise in this field to guarantee an accurate and coherent translation of the original document.
All my translations include the statutory declaration or attestation certifying that the translation is a faithful and accurate representation of the original, as well as my signature and official stamp. This declaration validates and authorises the translation and ensures that it complies with legal requirements.
Legal and Business Translation
I specialise in legal and business translation, a branch of sworn translation that combines legal and business expertise. As a legal and business translator, my work involves certifying documents related to legal and business matters, such as contracts, commercial agreements, financial reports, corporate legal documents or financial legislation, among others.
